Typical tasks during a Mobilisation :
- assessing contracts to novate/assign/terminate
- ensuring all commercial arrangements are in place prior to the transfer
- compiling Supplier and Contracts Registers and Schedules to legal documentation
- communicating with suppliers the progress on the project
- working with, and reporting to, the Project Team on a regular basis to ensure a seamless transition.
Management of transferring supplier contracts
DB Regio Tyne and Wear won the contract from Nexus, Tyne and Wear’s Passenger Transport Executive, to operate the stations and trains running on the light rail network for a period of nine years. The Metro is used by 40 million passengers a year in Newcastle and Sunderland.
DB Regio needed procurement support during their project mobilisation phase and so engaged us to advise them. Procurement Director Roger Guest spent three months based in Newcastle working as part of the mobilisation team.
Working proactively with the respective Work Stream Leaders, against strict deadlines, Roger negotiated new arrangements ensuring best value for money in both tendered and negotiated situations.
