A not for profit community interest company, DHU Healthcare provides services to the NHS front line – serving six million people across seven geographical locations in the East Midlands and beyond.

In collaboration with partners and colleagues across NHS systems, GP federations and other private provider companies, DHU Healthcare offer innovative, integrated solutions that ensure all patients and communities can access the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

The organisation leads urgent care within emergency departments, urgent treatment centres, GP and primary care surgeries in its communities – offering a full range of both ‘in and out of hours’ clinical specialist services, provided by a diverse workforce made up of medical, nursing, allied health and support teams.

At the heart of the national NHS111 service – DHU Healthcare responds to nearly two million calls a year from centres in Derby, Chesterfield and Leicester.

DHU Healthcare wanted a hand-on consultancy to provide support on every aspect of its ISO project – with a willingness to really understand the organisation, look at existing processes and offer support to make them more effective – so staff could spend more time on what really matters.

Creating foundations for success

The scope and specification of quality accreditation was designed for DHU Healthcare, along with an outline of the likely gain and return on investment that achievement would bring.  FPA then supported DHU Healthcare through a thorough implementation process that enabled them to achieve each accreditation.

We guided their team through the management of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, the development, implementation and external audit of ISO 27001 Information Security Standard along with ISO 22301 Business Continuity Standard.

Our advice and support have provided the foundations for continuous improvement and have enabled DHU Healthcare to remain in a position to maintain standards on an ongoing basis.
