Based in Chatham, Kent, Oakes Power Services offer specialist, high voltage electrical engineering, design, installation, maintenance, commissioning and consultancy services to a wide range of businesses. These include Network Rail, London Underground, IT & data centres, renewable energy providers and other commercial businesses across the whole of the UK.
We were introduced to Oakes Power Services by another client who recommended to FQS, a division of FPA Consulting to carry out a similar role as their health & safety and environment consultant.
Our initial role was to help Oaks Power Services achieve RISQS accreditation to enable the company to work on railway projects. We helped to develop, implement the required standards and also acted as the external auditor to ensure continuous improvement.
Having appreciated the value and benefits of implementing these best practices, we then helped integrate ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 management systems. This included the development and implementation of systems and processes and ongoing external audit.
Having established a trusted working partnership developed over a five year period of working together, Oakes Power services found it an easy decision to also appoint FQS to help them complete their application to become listed as an NSAR training provider.
NSAR is trusted by the rail industry to provide workable solutions for the provision of skills needed for the increasing demands of a modern railway.
This demonstrates that as an NSAR registered training & assessment provider, the quality of training provided by Oakes Power Services will be of high standard.
Having gained ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 enabled Oakes Power Services to expand into a new sector and develop our reputation and successfully provide specialist high voltage electrical engineering advice and services for projects within the construction industry. This has helped to diversify the company into many other areas of the electrical engineering industry.
Gaining our NSAR accreditation enabled us to expand the services we can offer to our clients. We are now able to offer training and assessments to ensure our clients’ workforce have the appropriate electrical engineering switching competencies.
