Workplace Vibration Assessment

Controlling exposure to vibration at work

Excessive vibrations can be linked to a variety of ill health effects such as vibration white finger, disabling hand-arm symptoms and back issues. A Risk Assessment is needed when any employee is likely to be exposed to daily hand-arm or whole-body levels at or above the A8 exposure action value.

We can help you:

We specialise in advising companies on compliance with The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations.

Hand Arm Vibration Assessment

We undertake assessments with fully calibrated equipment and follow the following guidance:

  • The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005.
  • Health and Safety Executive Guidance – L140 Hand Arm Vibration.
  • BS EN ISO 5349-1: 2001 Mechanical vibration. Measurement and evaluation of human exposure to hand-transmitted vibration. General requirements.

We take measurements from the handle of the vibrating tool, or from the plant/equipment. These are used, along with the time that hands/body are exposed to the measured vibration.
