Manual Handling

Training to avoid workplace injuries

Manual Handling is often performed incorrectly and is the cause of workplace injuries. Sudden injuries to backs, joints, ligaments and muscles can be crippling to a member of your staff and lead to a prolonged absence from their role.

The Manual Handling Operations regulations stipulate a business must identify the risks to its employees from manual handling activities and actively work to eliminate, mitigate or reduce those risks.

We can help you:

  • Document the assessment and subsequent control measures in the form of a written Manual Handling Risk Assessment for a particular operation or manoeuvre.
  • Support with data gathering on the operations and handling tasks you perform.
  • Analyse the lifting, pulling, pushing and other operations in detail, along with the equipment used and following the HSE MAC methodology, complete a Manual Handling Assessment with you.
  • Offer separate Manual Handling training to help you and your staff understand how and why to lift properly.
